ABC7 Chicago Auto Show Special Nets Emmy Award
The Chicago Auto Show special produced jointly by ABC7 Chicago and the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA), producer of the Chicago Auto Show, in February 2016 won a Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award. The hourlong program took top honors for Outstanding Achievement for Special Event Coverage and was presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The 55th Annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy awards ceremony took place Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Chicago Marriott Downtown on the Magnificent Mile.
The ABC7 Chicago team worked closely with the CATA, producer of the Chicago Auto Show, the CATA board of directors and 2016 Chicago Auto Show Chairman Colin Wickstrom to produce the special.
"It is gratifying to see the ABC7 Auto Show special and the Chicago Automobile Trade Association receive this prestigious Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award," said John Idler, ABC7 president and general manager. The CATA has again partnered with ABC7 Chicago for the show's 109th edition. This year, the "ABC7 Presents the 2017 Chicago Auto Show" TV special is scheduled to air on Saturday, Feb. 11 - the opening day of the public show.
