2012 Ford Shelby Revs up at the Chicago Auto Show

Posted by: Katie Odon

When I first heard the roar of a thumping V8, I had to double check that I was still at the Chicago Auto Show and not at a race track.  The electric blue car revving up its engine was the 2012 Ford Shelby GT500.  The Ford is revved up every hour to well over 100 mph for all racing enthusiasts to experience at the auto show.

This new Ford Shelby convertible made it's world debut here at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show . It's powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 that puts out 550 horsepower and 510 lb. ft. of torque to the optional 20- inch rear wheels.  The revving of the Ford Shelby each hour can be heard all across the show floor.  And it looks good doing it, with its bright blue color and jet black racing stripes.

Even if you aren't a race-track-rat, experiencing this Shelby car rev is a once in a life time experience.  Once every hour at the Chicago Auto Show, be sure to look for and hear the 2012 Ford Shelby GT500 rev up.
