2013 HYUNDAI EQUUS: Hyundai has entered the upper-luxury segment for 2013 with the plush, powerful and stylish Equus four-door sedan. Engineered for high-performance driving, the elegant Equus comes with a direct injection 5.0-liter Tau V-8, rated at a respectful 429 horsepower and nobly mated to a new in-house eight-speed automatic transmission. The latest gearbox adds two additional ratios to enhance acceleration, shifting smoothness, and efficiency by more than six percent compared to previous six-speed gearboxes. Equus is the third rear-wheel-drive product in Hyundai's lineup and boasts an excellent 52/48 front-to-rear weight distribution. Standard 19-inch chrome alloy wheels with staggered width front and rear tires have improved grip and control. Abundant luxury touches and creature comforts begins with Equus' electronically controlled air suspension, plus, Microfiber suede and leather-wrapped French-stitched four-or five-passenger cabin. Thermoelectric devices located in the seat backs and bottom cushions provide control for heating, cooling and humidity. Subtle touches for 2013 include the new White Satin exterior with Saddle interior color combination, daylight opening and power rear side-window sunshades, For high tech executives, the cockpit boasts Driver Information System (DIS) with navigation, XM Satellite Radio, HD Radio technology, and hands-free Bluetooth phone system.
