Honda Civic
2012 HONDA CIVIC: Entering the 2012 model year, the Civic continues as Honda's front-wheel drive, fun to drive compact lineup. This is the new ninth-generation Civic, with models that include the Civic Si Coupe and Sedan, Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe; plus the fuel-efficient Civic HF, Civic Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas. All models offer seating for five, a 60/40-split rear seat, and cargo areas in three sizes. The sedan's trunk is rated at 12.5 cu. ft. of volume, while the coupe drops slightly to11.7 cu. ft and the hybrid to 10.7 cu. ft. The Civic HF, Sedan, Coupe and Natural Gas comes standard with the 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder. That engine produces 140 horsepower and 128 lb. ft. of torque in HF, Sedan and Coupe, but only 110 hp and 127 lb. ft. of torque in the Natural Gas model. A new, larger 2.4L four-cylinder delivers 201 hp and 170 lb. ft. of torque to the Si Coupe and sedan. Honda's Civic Hybrid features a new 1.5L four-cylinder with lithium-ion battery system, replacing the previous 1.3L with nickel-metal hydride arrangement. Depending on the engine and model, a continuously variable; five-speed manual, five-speed automatic and new six-speed manual transmissions are available.
