2013 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER: Added value is the top news surrounding the popular Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid models for 2013. There is more standard equipment, new option packages and audio systems. This is the second-generation Highlander, available in Highlander, Plus, SE, Limited and Hybrid grades with either front-wheel or full-time four-wheel drive. For 2013, the Highlander offers three distinct levels of performance. The 2.7 liter four-cylinder produces 187 horsepower and comes mated to a six-speed automatic, while the 270hp 3.5L V-6 connects to a five-speed automatic . Powering the Hybrid model is the gasoline 3.5L (replacing previous 3.3L) V-6 paired with a high-torque electric drive motor-generator for total system output of 280 horsepower. A second rear-mounted motor provides automatic on-demand four-wheel drive traction. The optional tow package for V-6 models enables up to 5,000-pound towing capacity, while the four-cylinder tow parcel provides a maximum of 3,500 lbs. A power liftgate that can be opened and closed with a key fob or driver side control is an available option. Highlander can comfortable transport seven-passengers, or when middle and third row seating is down, haul up to 95.4 cu. ft. of the family cargo. New color palette adds shades with names like Sizzling Crimson mica, Shoreline Blue pearl and Blizzard Pearl. As a note, the Highlander is assembled at Toyota's Motor Manufacturing Princeton, Indiana facility. Visit the official site for more information
