2013 FORD EXPLORER SPORT: FoMoCo fans touring the 105th edition of the Chicago Auto Show, will love seeing the first high-performance production Ford Explorer - the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport. You'll be able to spot this model by the unique grille featuring low-gloss Sterling Gray mesh with contrasting Ebony high-gloss bars, the 20-inch painted and machined wheels, blacked-out head and taillight treatments. This vehicle also wears Explorer logotype in billet-like black, and available in four exterior metallic paints - Ruby Red Clearcoat, White Platinum Tri-Coat, Tuxedo Black and Ingot Silver. Backing up the aggressive stance is the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 that delivers a muscular 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. Paddle shifters offer precise control of the six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, and Explorer Sport's terrain management system tailors power to all four wheels for enhanced dynamics on and off the pavement. Explorer Sport's interior adds two-tone leather-trimmed seating, available for five or seven-passenger transportation. Depending on your needs, there is 21.0 cu. ft. in back of the third row seating, a decent 43.8 cu. ft. behind middle row, and a spacious 80.7 cu. ft. behind first row when third and middle seatbacks down. Travelers will enjoy the latest-generation SYNC system with MyFord Touch features Wi-Fi capability, text-to-voice, and HD Radio with iTunes tagging. Other technological wonders are the MyKey programmable vehicle for parental controls, a hill start assist system and a curve control, which can slow the vehicle by up to 10 mph if it senses a curve is being taken too fast. For the record, the '13 Explorer Sport is manufactured at Ford's Chicago production facility. Visit the official site for more information
