Mazda CX-7
2012 MAZDA CX-7: Mazda’s highly-styled crossover vehicle, the 2012 CX-7, retains the soul of a sports car with SUV practicality. Produced entirely on a Mazda-derived platform architecture, the CX-7 is available in SV, Sport and Touring models. There are two four-cylinder powerplants offered, as are a five- or 6-speed automatic transmission. For starters, Mazda’s MZR 2.5-liter DOHC I4 develops 161 horsepower and 161 lb. ft. of torque. The MZR 2.3L DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) turbocharged I4 cranks-out a spirited 244hp and 258 lb. ft. of torque to standard front-wheel or four-wheel drive configurations. Other decisions to be made include selecting 17-, 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels, Multi-information Display (MID) with available rearview camera, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio connectivity, a compact navigation system and rain-sensing windshield wipers. A Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system is available to help the driver avoid collisions with other vehicles when changing lanes or merging with traffic. CX-7's cabin is designed to provide a quiet, vibration-free environment for five passengers, as well as 58.6 cu. ft. of cargo space with rear seat folded down.
