Jeep Compass
2013 JEEP COMPASS: Built at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, IL, the 2013 Jeep Compass comes powered by the 2.0 liter four-cylinder World Gas engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission that achieves an EPA highway fuel economy rating of 30 mpg. In addition, the Jeep Compass sports two new exterior colors: Winter Chill Pearl Coat and Black Forest Green Pearl Coat, which totals seven shades to decide from. Jeep Compass is available in standard front-wheel-drive, Freedom Drive I and the Freedom Drive II four-wheel drive off-road systems. The Compass model lineup includes Sport, Latitude and Limited levels. Standard powerplant for the Sport and Latitude models is a 2.0-liter World Engine that provides 158 horsepower. It features a stock five-speed manual transaxle on the Compass Sport, and the continuously-variable transmission (CVT) is optional on the Sport and standard on the Latitude and Limited models. Available on all models and standard on the Limited is the 2.4-liter I-4 World Gas Engine, producing 172hp. The Jeep Compass provides up to 62.7 cu. ft of cargo room when front passenger and rear seats are down. When properly equipped, the '13 Jeep Compass can offer up to 2,000 lb towing capacity. For peace of mind, the Compass comes standard with electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, hill-start assist and side-curtain air bags that cover all rows. For the record, the Jeep Compass appeared as a concept at the 2002 Chicago Auto Show, and was production units introduced in August 2006.
