2013 FORD ESCAPE:
The Ford Escape sport utility vehicle continues to be America's best-selling SUV, and to keep the title, the 2013 Escape sports a sleek new design with hi-tech five-passenger cabin, and a choice from a trio of four-cylinder engines and front-wheel or Ford Intelligent four-wheel drive systems. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder provides 168 horsepower and up to 1,500 lb towing capacity. There are two EcoBoost four-cylinder engines available, - the 173 hp 1.6L and a 2.0L that delivers 237 hp, with 2,000 and 3,500 lb tow ratings. Plus, the new Escape's active grille shutter system, which is on models with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost and 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines, reduces wind resistance. All engine variations are fitted with standard six-speed automatic transmissions, and versatile vehicle features include an available hands-free power liftgate that allows quick and easy access to cargo with the kick of a foot. Stowing and towing are even easier thanks to a low liftover height of 27 inches, and cargo volume that surpasses the outgoing Escape - with 34.3 cu. ft. behind the second row and 68.1 cu. ft. of space behind the first row. Upgraded MyFord Touch system makes connecting with digital devices on the go even easier, and with the press of a button, the active park assist detects an available parallel parking space and automatically steers the vehicle into the space. Drivers control only the gas and brake pedals.
