Kia Optima Hybrid 'Superman'
KIA OPTIMA HYBRID – SUPERMAN: Unveiled at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, is the Superman-inspired Optima Hybrid, one of an eight vehicle partnership between Kia and DC Entertainment. These custom-built Kia’s are inspired by the iconic characters that make up the Justice League – including Superman. Symbolizing strength, the most recognized Super Hero in the world, Superman, has been paired with Kia’s advanced and powerful Optima Hybrid, to create a distinctively modified ride. This unique Kia features the Superman’s stylized color scheme that contains the unmistakable chest emblem on the hood, and an eye-catching red paint that extends with a thin line from the front towards the rear, outlining the roof and flowing across the trunk lid – evoking the look of his crimson cape. Note how the beveled front grille resembles Superman’s belt, and the red headlights glow with the same intensity of his heat vision. Overall the Optima has been widened with custom fenders, giving the vehicle a muscular appearance, and it features an adjustable suspension system that can raise and lower the vehicle with the push of a button. Within the five occupant cabin are seats, dash and panels covered with materials to reflect Superman’s impenetrable battle armor. And Superman’s iconic “S” shield is integrated into the seats and steering wheel to give it the right heroic touch. A pair of video screens in the front-seat headrests play the “We Can Be Heroes” video about the worst hunger crisis in 60 years that demonstrates how one small act can make anyone a hero.
