BMW X1 SUV
2013 BMW X1 SERIES: As far as BMW is concerned, “versatility has never looked this good,” when describing the 2013 BMW X1 series on display at the 105th edition of the Chicago Auto Show. Another tagline is, “Become one with the all-new BMW X1.” Both slogans live up to the hype of the world’s first sub-compact premium SUV-style vehicle, with three trim levels offered, starting with the rear-wheel drive X1 sDrive28i. Upgrading to the X1 xDrive28i gets you the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive configuration. Both 28i editions come equipped with a 2.0 liter, twinpower inline four-cylinder that creates a respectable 240 horsepower. Top-tier X1 xDrive35i is fitted with a 3.0 liter twinpower turbo inline six-cylinder, and xDrive, intelligent all-wheel drive system. Also, there are the Sport Line and M Sport Line, each taking the X1 to higher levels of performance. All X1 models are eye-catching with muscular body panels, iconic twin kidney grille, sweeping hood, long wheelbase and set-back passenger compartments. Additional cues, such as a chrome accent strip atop the twin Corona headlight-rings, as well as an LED accent light, enhance the X’s bold presence.
