Chrysler 300S Turbine Concept
CHRYSLER 300S TURBINE CONCEPT: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the famous Chrysler Turbine release in 1963, is a one-of-a-kind Chrysler 300S Turbine Concept. The 300S exterior paint is “Turbine Firefrost Bronze’ in a matte-finished in homage to the true turbine powered experimental vehicle from '63. That futuristic car featured a fifth-generation twin-regenerator gas-turbine engine that was rated at 130 horsepower and an incredible 425 lb. ft of torque. It was mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. No such powerplant is in the 300S Tubine Concept, as it features a stock Mopar 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 mated to an eight-speed automatic. Standout features on the 300S Turbine Concept appearing at the 2013 Chicago show, include the custom upper and lower machined-billet grilles, gloss black roof, polished mirrors, tinted headlights and taillights, deck-lid spoiler and 22 inch diameter rims with 20 turbine-like fin blades. A rare color photo from the 1964 Chicago Auto Show captured the rear view of the experimental Chrysler Turbine.
