Mercedes-Benz 2014 E-Class
2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS: A major attraction in the Mercedes-Benz exhibit during the 2013 Chicago Auto Show is the restyled 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. A favorite in the premium medium-size segment, the latest E-Class Coupe and four-seat Cabriolet models continue to bring driving pleasure at the highest levels. The new look is accentuated by the redesigned front with V-shaped bumper, muscular shaped rear fenders new taillights and wide rear bumper. Standard on the E350 is a direct injection 3.5 liter V-6 engine that produces 302 horsepower. Step up to the E550 and experience the 402hp and 443 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, released from the 4.6L biturbo V-8. For those seeking all-wheel drive, the 2014 E350 Coupe can be ordered with Mercedes' 4Matic system. Across the board, all powerplants come equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission, including shift paddles, as well as ECO start/stop system for greater fuel economy. On the track, the E550 races from 0-to-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, and both the V-6 and V-8 setups have a governed top speed of 130 mph. As in the Sedan and Wagon, new assistance systems that combine comfort and safety also are being introduced in the 2014 E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet. Mercedes-Benz refers to all this as "intelligent drive." These new technologies can help prevent accidents with crossing vehicles or pedestrians as well as an enhanced version of Active Lane Keeping Assist.
