Subaru BR-Z
2013 SUBARU BRZ:
A big surprise at last year's Chicago Auto Show (CAS) was the appearance of the all-new, rear-wheel drive 2013 Subaru BRZ sports cars. For a return engagement at the 2013 CAS, the performance-bred Subaru BRZ is shown in two levels, Premium and Limited. Each BRZ wears a low-slung body that combines a swept-back roofline, bulging front fenders, short overhangs and pronounced rear haunches for a lean, athletic stance. The BRZ has one of the lowest possible centers of gravity on the market and comes stock with the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 200 horsepower. That engine is not shared with other Subaru models, and can be mated to a new six-speed manual gearbox or optional paddle-shift six-speed automatic transmission, sport-tuned suspension with front strut brace and Torsen limited-slip differential. The BRZ cabin is design for 2+2 seating, with bolstered front sport seats designed just for this car and rear seats that can accommodate front-facing child seats. Behind the three-spoke, leather wrapped steering wheel accented with red stitching, the driver faces easy-to-see instrument panel featuring a large, center-mounted tachometer with an analog speedometer to its left. When additional room is required, the one-piece rear seatback lowers to expand the space offered in the 6.9 cu. ft. trunk to provide enough room to now haul four-wheels, a helmet and basic supplies to weekend slalom or track events.
