Lincoln MKS
2013 LINCOLN MKS:
A big hit in the Lincoln exhibit during last year's Chicago Auto Show (CAS) was the 2013 MKS, which is again highlighted at the 2013 CAS. As Lincoln's flagship model, the full-size 2013 MKS sports an updated, sleeker body style. Viewing the front, is a new hood, front fenders, HID headlamps, front fascia, and a fresh interpretation of Lincoln's historic split-wing grille from 1938. Around back is a restyled decklid, rear fascia, LED taillights and unique exhaust tips. Standard engine is a 3.7 liter V-6 with a healthy 304 horsepower, vs. 274hp for 2012. It can be selected with front-wheel or all-wheel drive arrangement. The twin-turbo 3.5L V-6 delivers a muscular 365hp and comes exclusively with all-wheel drive. Each powerplant achieves a three-mpg highway improvement versus pervious models, and come mated to specific six-speed automatic transmissions that include steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters. Newly crafted five-passenger interior features an all-new instrument panel, MyLincoln Touch and rich new color schemes complementing new premium materials and genuine stitching. A heated steering wheel is a welcome option, as are Prussian burl and brown swirl walnut woods. The tailored truck space offers a respectable 19.2 cu. ft. of room for groceries or luggage. Hi-tech items include Collision warning, Lane Keeping Alert and Lane Keeping Aid technologies that help warn drivers of potentially dangerous situations and can assist them to avoid common accidents. Expanded SYNC functionality contain standard Operator Assist and local Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities for laptops and tablets.
