Volvo S60 Polestar
VOLVO S60 POLESTAR CONCEPT: Andreas Naeslund, Sales Manager North America for Polestar Performance Inc. was on hand in the Volvo exhibit during the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. He’s standing with the Polestar Concept car, painted in a bright Rebel Blue so you wouldn't miss it. Polestar is Volvo's performance partner since 1996, offering tuning technology and parts enhancements to production model Volvos. Starting with a 2013 Volvo S60, Polestar took the turbocharged Volvo T6 inline six-cylinder and tuned it to deliver 508 horsepower and 424 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is fitted with modified cylinder head, combustion chambers, inlet manifold and air intake. When the engine is running, there's beautiful sounds emanating from the Ferrita 3.5-inch stainless steel exhaust system. Next, Polestar combined a lowered, widened and reinforced chassis with a tuned Haldex all-wheel-drive system and Öhlins suspension. This set-up makes the car uniquely suitable for both high-performance driving and long-distance traveling. On the track, the concept springs from 0-to-62 mph in 3.9 seconds and then to a top speed of more than 186 mph. Without question, the Volvo S60 Polestar prototype is the most glamorous and lightning-quick Volvo concept car ever made. See it and all the Volvo production models in McCormick Place, Feb.9th to Feb.19th, 2013.
