Volkswagen Beetle
2013 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE: New for the 2013 model year is the Beetle Fender Edition, which is a marriage of icons from the worlds of music and the automobile. Continuing in its third-generation the beloved Beetle is on sale in the United States with three models available: the Beetle, sporty Turbo and the TDI Clean Diesel package. Fresh styling results in a bolder, more dynamic, and more masculine Beetle, with a lower profile, wider body and longer front hood. Powerplants include the 2.5-liter five-cylinder, 2.0L TSI turbocharged four-cylinder and the 2.0L turbo with TDI Clean Diesel technology. The diesel produces 140 horsepower and 236 lb. ft. of torque, while offering an estimated 40 mpg highway. Three transmissions are offered, including five-and six-speed manual gearboxes and the DSG six-speed dual-clutch automatic. Even though the "cathedral ceiling" dome roof of the New Beetle has been replaced with a sleek and sporty roofline, the roomy cabin continues to seat four-passengers and the trunk on the 2013 model offers 15.4 cubic feet of space. When rear seats are folded, the capacity increases to 29.9 cubic feet. Desirable features include transparent, panoramic tilt/slide glass sunroof, navagation system with a five-inch touchscreen and push-button start. Checkout the Turbo Fender Edition at the Chicago Auto Show, and note the Deep Black metallic exterior, brushed chrome exterior mirrors, 18-inch "Disc" aluminum-alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights and the famous Fender logo.
