Toyota RAV4
2013 TOYOTA RAV4:
Sure to be a popular attraction at the 105th edition Chicago Auto Show is the all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV. This is Toyota's fourth-generation RAV4, and is available in three well-equipped levels: LE, XLE and Limited. Styling for the new RAV4 achieves new proportions by a sleek-sloping roofline, sculpted front and rear fenders, and impressive silhouette. A major body change to the RAV4 is the switch from its traditional side-hinged rear door to a roof-hinged liftgate with spare tire stored under cargo floor.
Exclusive powerplant offered on the '13 Toyota RAV4 is a 176 horsepower 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine, due to the discontinuation of the optional V-6 of the previous-generation RAV4. Also, replacing the prior four-speed automatic is a six-speed transmission with Sequential Shift, and to enhance fuel mileage, fifth and sixth gears are overdrives. In both front- and all-wheel drive the RAV4 delivers sharp shift timing, throttle and steering response. There is two-row seating for five in the cabin, and in contrast to RAV4's compact exterior dimensions, the cargo area is deeper, larger and easier to access than in than earlier generation. There is just over 38.4 cu. ft. of cargo capacity behind the rear seats, and with rear seats folded, RAV4 has a class-leading maximum cargo capacity of 73.3 cu. ft. Depending on trim level, available technologies to consider is GPS navigation and Entune multimedia system, 576-watt JBL GreenEdge premium audio, Bluetooth hands-free phone, and blind spot monitor system.
