2013 TOYOTA AVALON: Designed, developed and manufactured in U.S., the all-new 2013 Avalon is Toyota's flagship sedan that has received an elevated level of innovation and craftsmanship. Fresh exterior design cues include a longer flowing roofline, larger grille, chiseled shoulder line, industry-first Quadrabeam headlight cluster and sculpted rear taillights that utilize LED lamps. The 2013 lineup includes the Avalon V-6, and for the first time, an Avalon Hybrid model with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive, as well as two grades - XLE and Limited. Consumers who opt for the conventional gas-powered '13 Avalon, receive a 268 horsepower 3.5L V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid model is equipped with a 156hp 2.5 liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder attached to a hybrid application transaxle. The two high output electric motors in the transaxle are rated at 105 kW total, for a total system output 200 horsepower, and mated to a transmission that operates similarly to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Consumers who opt for the conventional gas-powered '13 Avalon, receive a 268hp 3.5L V-6 engine mated to a standard six-speed automatic transmission. Avalon is a premium mid-size sedan, with a fashionable five-passenger cabin offered in a choice of three color themes: almond; light grey and black. Improved luggage compartment is rated at 16.0 cubic feet of cargo capacity for the gasoline model and 14.0 cu.ft. for the Hybrid edition. Depending on package levels, desirable items include alloy wheels, backup camera, moonroof, premium perforated leather, rear sunshade, pre-collision system, Entune with navigation and paddle shifters.
