2013 MAZDA2: If you’re in the market for a nimble subcompact that seats five and is a blast to drive in the city and on expressways, check out the Mazda2 at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. You’ll notice it by the swooping character lines, shortened body overhangs and trimmed corners that give the car a slender physique. Another clue that its the Mazda2 is by the six energetic exterior colors: Liquid Silver, Brilliant Black, True Red, Aquatic Blue, Crystal White Pearl and best-selling Spirited Green. Available in Sport and Touring trim-levels, all models come equipped with an MZR 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that produces 100 horsepower to the front wheels. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard, and four-speed automatic transmission is optional. Mazda2 offers 13.3 cubic feet of storage room, or when the 60/40 split fold-down rear seats are folded flat, that cargo capacity expands to 27.8 cubic feet. For a more custom fit Mazda2 experience, available accessories are Bluetooth-enabled phone connectivity, a center armrest with storage bin, an auto-dimming compass-equipped rearview mirror with HomeLink, all-weather floor mats and a rear bumper guard.
