Lexus RX
2013 LEXUS RX: It was at the 1997 Chicago Auto Show when Lexus debut the RX concept, which lead to the production RX 300 and created the "luxury crossover" segment. This slice of the market combined car and SUV features with both front and all wheel drive. Now in its third-generation, the Lexus RX 350 continues to be a most popular SUV choice. A key factor has always been the RX models' handling agility and smart packaging that yields five-passenger comfort and greater cargo area room. For model year 2013, the RX features a new bolder, signature Lexus grille design, new bumper, LED daytime running lights, unique fog lamp bezels, updated taillights and rear license plate surround. For the first time, an F SPORT model featuring eight-speed transmission, paddle shifters and sport-tuned suspension for a more engaging driving experience is available. Under the hood is the 3.5 liter V-6 that creates 270 horsepower and is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission with reengineered torque converter that improves fuel economy. Consumers will appreciate the new power back door and a choice from nine exterior colors including four fresh shades: Silver Lining Metallic, Claret Mica, Deep Sea Mica, and Fire Agate Pearl. Sure to be a popular option is the Sport Appearance Package that adds distinctive halogen headlights and 19-inch wheels with "superchrome" finish. High-intensity LEDs on the available Heads Up Display, project high-contrast white figures onto the windshield, which are easier to read - and easier on the eyes. With rear seats up and rearmost, there is 40.0 cu. ft. of cargo volume, and with rear seats folded down, an impressive 80.3 cu. ft.
