2013 KIA RIO/RIO5: Kia's popular Rio 5-door hatchback and Rio 4-door sedan receives slight revisions for model year 2013, while continuing to provide class-leading horsepower and fuel economy of up to 40 miles per gallon. The two subcompacts are offered in three trims - LX, EX and SX - each outfitted with the 138 horsepower 1.6 liter gasoline direct-injection four-cylinder engine, and a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox (LX only) or fuel efficient six-speed automatic transmission. The optional Stop and Go technology is included with ECO package. Conceived at Kia's design studios in Irvine, Calif., the '13 Rio 5-door and its sedan sibling receive revised KIA badge on hood, trunk lid and steering wheel. Moving inside, the 2013 Kia Rio/Rio 5 greets driver and four passengers. New for 2013, is standard steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters on SX model, standard cargo floor tray and net, plus revised rear seat back flip-type handle. The sedan offers 13.7 cu. ft. of cargo room, while the hatchback increases the number to 15.0 cu. ft. Specific premium packages allow drive and passengers the benefit of a navigation system with SiriusXM Traffic, push-button start with Smart Key, leather seat trim, heated front seats, moonroof, 17-inch rims, dual chrome exhaust tips, projector headlights, plus LED accent lights and rear combination lamps.
