2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE: Lovely Allison, Jeep's spokeswoman during the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, poses with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since it's introduction in 1992, the Grand Cherokee has become Jeep's top-selling model, with nearly five million sold worldwide. For 2014, Jeep has redefined its premium SUV, making it more fuel efficient and luxurious than ever. There are five trim levels beginning with the Grand Cherokee Laredo, Laredo E, Limited, Overland and top-tier Summit. Big news for 2014, is Jeep's new 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V-6 that delivers clean-diesel technology with a driving range of more than 730 miles, and can tow up to 7,400 pounds. Chrysler Group's 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine featuring variable-valve timing, delivers 290 horsepower. At the top is the 5.7L V-8 that packs 360 horsepower and includes fuel saver cylinder-deactivation technology. All engines come linked to the new eight-speed automatic transmission that improves fuel economy across the board. Consumers have a choice of three available 4x4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), an available Quadra-Lift air suspension and a Selec-Terrain traction management system. Interior luxury for the five passenger vehicle is achieved with premium amenities including Natura leather, exotic open-pore wood trim and new color offerings. Maximum cargo room when second row seating is lowered is a healthy 68.3 cu. ft. The power rear liftgate is standard or available on all 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee models. Additional technologies offered number more than 60, including front park assist, forward collision warning with crash mitigation systems. Occupants will enjoy the Uconnect access via mobile and cloud-based voice texting and an 8.4-inch touchscreen radio with infotainment controls. Visit the official site for more information
