Hyundai Accent
2013 HYUNDAI ACCENT: Hyundai's 2013 Accent is the fourth generation version of the popular subcompact sedan, offered in three trim levels. There's the affordable four-door GLS, the versatile, well equipped five-door GS and the sporty five-door SE. Both Accent sedan and hatchback configurations are front-wheel drive, and come outfitted with Hyundai's 1.6-liter "Gamma" four-cylinder engine, paired with six-speed automatic or manual transmissions. Accent is also the first subcompact car to use Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), which helps the engine to delivers 138 horsepower, as well best-in-class fuel economy of 30 mpg city/40 mpg highway. Statistically, Accent's exterior dimensions are consistent with those of traditional subcompacts, yet is classified by the EPA as a compact sedan, thanks to its interior volume. The cabin provides five-passenger occupancy, plus a total of 13.7 cu. ft of cargo room in the sedan's trunk, and 47.5 cu. ft. of payload space in the five-door hatchback. Accent has best-in-class front and rear shoulder room, and the five-door also has more cargo volume than many of its compact five-door competitors. Hyundai's corporate "Fluidic Sculpture" exterior styling applied on this entry-level model is worthy of respect from higher-ticket merchandise. Heated side mirrors, remote keyless entry and air conditioning are now standard on all 2013 Accent trims. Accent SE's side mirrors have been upgraded with turn signal indicators for an extra level of safety. Shoppers also will find an optional power sunroof on the Accent SE trim. The Accent features a bold exterior nine color palette with both light and dark shades with names like Ironman Silver, Boston Red, Mocha Bronze and Electrolyte Green.
