Chevrolet 2014 Silverado
2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO: Chevrolet is highlighting the 2014 Silverado at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. This is a full-size pickup that is all-new from hood to hitch. Among the many updates for 2014 are dramatic new designs inside and out; a trio of powerful, efficient EcoTec3 V-6 and V-8 engines that seamlessly switch to four-cylinder mode to improve efficiency; and quieter, more comfortable, functional interiors. For 2014, the Silverado 1500 body styles include regular, extended and crew cab, available with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations. For the first time, Silverado 1500 crew cabs will be offered with a longer 6'6" foot box, in addition to the previous 5'8" box. Boxes are made from roll-formed steel for increased strength and reduced mass, compared with the traditional stamped beds. Engine selection begins with a new 4.3-liter V-6, then moves to new 5.3L V-8 and tops-off with a new 6.2L V-8. All three engines feature a six-speed automatic transmission. Changes to the exterior are evolutionary, with updates that create a more muscular, more functional and more aerodynamic body. Rear doors on crew cabs are larger, for easier entry and exit, and rear doors on extended cab models are now hinged at the front for easier access, especially in tight spots. Also, checkout the new inlaid doors that reduce wind noise for a quieter cab. Silverado's CornerStep bumper, combined with handholds built into the new box rail protectors, makes it easier to access the box. Silverado is available with forward collision alert, lane departure warning and Front and Rear Park Assist. StabiliTrak with Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist are standard on all models.
