BMW M6 Gran Coupe
2013 BMW M6 GRAN COUPE: Visitors to the 105th Chicago Auto Show have the opportunity to see the all new BMW M6 Gran Coupe, which will not reach BMW dealers until the summer 2013. The M6 Gran Coupe is an ultra-high performance, four-door Coupe design with stunning aesthetics, race-bred technology, and the signature driving character of BMW M GmbH. What makes this model instantly unique among four-door vehicles is its bonded-in carbon fiber composite roof panel, and is fitted with the most powerful engine ever offered in an M production car. The M6 Gran Coupe is endowed with a 4.4 liter M TwinPower Turbo V-8 with 560 horsepower and an always-accessible 500 lb-ft of torque. This allows the rear-wheel drive M6 Gran Coupe to rocket from 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds and easily reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph in only a few seconds more. To focuses the gargantuan muscle of its engine on the road, the M6 Gran Coupe includes the high-torque seven-speed M-double clutch transmission borrowed from the M5 and M6, plus the innovative Active M differential, which in turn perfectly balances power between the rear wheels. Standard equipment includes Merino extended leather upholstery, door sills with “M6” lettering, an M driver’s footrest, exclusive carbon fiber interior trim and the headliner in Anthracite Alcantara and leather, as is the iDrive control system with a 10.2-inch Control Display. And here is a tidbit from the showfloor – the new BMW M5 and M6 family will be the first cars in the history of BMW M to be offered with optional M Carbon-Ceramic brakes, which become available with Spring 2013 production.
