Audi 2014 R8
2014 AUDI R8: Those attending the 2013 Chicago Auto Show will view the much anticipated 2014 Audi R8 Coupe and Spyder, the pinnacle of Audi performance. The German company has made the ultra-sports car sharper and more stylish with newly structured LED headlights, hexagonal Singleframe grille, new side mirrors and the large, round tailpipe trim and rear lights with innovative dynamic turn signals. Engineered to perform on the track as well as for comfortable weekend cruising, the R8 is offered with a choice of three different engines. Consumers can op for the 430 horsepower 4.2 liter R8 V8, which weighs a fit 3,440 pounds thanks to Audi’s ultra lightweight construction. There are also two versions of the 5.2L V10s. The R8 V10 generates 525hp, while the R8 V-10 Plus bumps that up to 550hp. All variations come linked to the new seven-speed S tronic double-clutch gearbox that improves performance with smoother shifts. An option is the gated six-speed manual transmission. The 2013 R8 V10 Plus, offered as a coupe only, comes with weight saving carbon fiber side blades, front splitter, rear diffuser, spoiler; a smaller fuel tank; manual Alcantara seats and ceramic brakes. This top-of-the-line model is capable of catapulting from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 196 mph.
