Nissan GT-R
2010 NISSAN GT-R: Nissan launched the new GT-R in the U.S.A. as an “ultimate supercar for anyone, anywhere, at anytime.” Billed as a multi-dimensional performance machine, the GT-R’s newly developed Midship package offers the world’s first application of an independent transaxle 4-wheel-drive system. Aerodynamic-shaped body combines steel, carbon fiber and aluminum panels for stiffness and lightness. Beneath the hood is the “VR38,” a new 3.8-litre twin turbo V-6 engine that produces an upgraded 485 horses for 2010. Depositing the 434 lb ft of torque to the ground is the 6-speed dual clutch transmission, which has been recalibrated to make clutch engagements even quicker. Projected 0-to-60 miles per hour times is in the 3.5-second range. The 4-passenger cockpit contains sculpted performance bucket seats, a large center-mounted tachometer and specially designed Bose sound system.
