Audi R8
2010 AUDI R8: Incorporating the name and the genes of the 5-time Le Mans winner, the all-wheel-drive Audi R8 is a spectacular production 2-seater. This is the first production Audi mid-engine sports car and it features a 420 horsepower, 4.2-liter V8 FSI engine. For 2010, the race track beckons as an optional engine is being offered and it is a 5.2-liter, 525-hp, dual overhead cam V10. LED headlights are standard on the V10 and optional on the V8. Besides quattro permanent all-wheel-drive, the R8 comes with an aluminum body and Audi’s space frame made popular years ago on the A8. Behind the doors, a large “sideblade” air deflector sweeps between the wheel arch and the roof section, and delivers air for the engine to breathe as well as for cooling. An automatically extending rear spoiler is deployed to assist the R8 by using the wind. Estimated top speed is 187 mph.
