2017 Porsche 718: The 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman/Boxster marks the third-generation of Porsche's entry-level sports car, which competes against the Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW Z5, and Chevrolet Corvette. For this year, it has new engines and new looks. The 718 Cayman is a coupe version, while the 718 Boxster is a convertible.
The 718 is powered by either a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat four-cylinder that makes 300 horsepower or a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 350 horsepower. Both mate to either a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed automatic. Both coupe and convertible are rear-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 20 mpg to 29 mpg highway.
Available features include USB, Apple CarPlay, navigation, Google Earth, and in-car Wi-Fi.
Available safety features include stability control, traction control, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
