2017 Nissan Versa/Versa Note: Available in sedan and hatchback flavors, the 2017 Nissan Versa is a five-seat subcompact sedan that competes with vehicles such as the Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Sonic, and Hyundai Accent. The hatchback version is called the Versa Note, and new for 2017 the Note gets refreshed styling, while both the Versa sedan and Note add new special-edition packages.
Both have a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 109 horsepower and pairs to either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT). The Note is only available with the CVT. The Versa and Versa Note are both front-wheel drive, and EPA-estimated fuel economy is listed at 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway for the Versa sedan with the five-speed manual and 31/39 for both the sedan and hatchback with CVT.
The Versa is available in S, S Plus, SV, and SL, while the Note is available in S Plus, SV, SR, and SL trims. Available features include fog lamps, satellite radio, navigation, Bluetooth, and cruise control.
Available safety features include rear-view camera, stability control, traction control, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
The base price for the 2017 Nissan Versa is $11,990, excluding destination and dealer fees. The Versa Note starts at $15,480, not including destination fees.
