2017 Nissan Altima: Nissan's entry in the competitive mid-size sedan class is the 2017 Nissan Altima. This five-seat sedan competes with well-known nameplates such as the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, and Toyota Camry. The Altima carries over mostly unchanged for 2017, following a mid-cycle refresh for 2016.There are two available engines: A 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 179 horsepower and a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 270 horsepower. Both mate to a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT), and the Altima is front-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 27 mpg and 39 mpg highway for four-cylinder models (26/37 with the SR trim) and 22/32 for the V6.There are seven available trim levels: 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, 3.5 SR, and 3.5 SL. Available features include Bluetooth, remote keyless entry, remote start, power moonroof, leather seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, navigation, USB, satellite radio and, dual-zone climate control.Available safety features include rear-view camera, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, forward emergency braking, predictive forward collision warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.The 2017 Nissan Altima has a base price of $22,500, excluding dealer and destination fees.
