2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class: The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is another entry into the ever-growing class of compact luxury crossovers. The competitive set for this five-seat hatchback includes the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. New for 2017, the GLA-Class adds new tech and infotainment features.
The GLA250 has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 208 horsepower and pairs to a seven-speed automatic transmission. AMG models also have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, but this one makes 375 horsepower. It, too, mates to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The GLA is available with front- or all-wheel drive, with the AMG being AWD only. Fuel economy is listed at an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city and 33 highway for the front-wheel drive GLA250 (23/31 with AWD) and 22/28 for the AMG model.
Available features include heated front seats, infotainment and telematics system, navigation, satellite radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear-view camera, distance-based cruise control, lane-keep assist, active brake assist and attention assist.
