2017 Mercedes-Benz G

2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class: The 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a high-end luxury SUV that has boxy looks straight out of the past - which figures since the G-Class is a former military vehicle, and the current generation of this hand-built SUV has been on the market since 1979. The G-Class has few direct competitors, with the Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, and Toyota Land Cruiser coming closest. For 2017, the G-Class adds a new 4x4 variant.

Power for the G550 and G550 4x4 comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 416 horsepower. Available AMG high-performance models are available with either a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 563 horsepower or a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 that makes 621 horsepower. All pair to seven-speed automatic transmissions, and the G-Class all-wheel drive.

Available features include navigation, rear-seat entertainment, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control, heated windshield, Bluetooth, USB, satellite radio, adjustable suspension, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Available safety features include blind-spot assist, park assist, rear-view camera, and distance-based cruise control.
