2017 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class: The 2017 Mercedes-Benz is four-seat, four-door "coupe" that places higher in the lineup than the CLA-Class four-door coupe. Like the CLA-Class, the CLS-Class has little in the way of direct competition. A high-performance AMG version is available. New for 2017 is a nine-speed automatic transmission for all non-AMG models.Under the hood of CLS400 models is a 3.0-liter V6 that makes 329 horsepower. CLS550 models have a twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 402 horsepower. AMG models have a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 577 horsepower. Rear-wheel or all-wheel drive are available on non-AMG models, while AMG models have all-wheel drive standard. The AMG has a seven-speed automatic transmission, the others have nine-speed automatic transmissions.Available features include heated front seats, cooled front seats, power trunk closer, premium audio, navigation, infotainment and telematics system, Bluetooth, power rear sunshade, and satellite radio.Available safety features include rear-view camera, blind-spot assist, lane-keep assist, park assist, pre-collision system, distance-based cruise control, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.
