2017 Lexus GS

2017 Lexus GS: The 2017 Lexus GS is a mid-size sports sedan that is Lexus' answer to the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Cadillac CTS, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. This five-seater offers a hybrid model and a high-performance version dubbed the GS F. For 2017, the GS line, which is divided into GS 200t, GS 350, GS F, and GS 450h, gains new standard safety features and a few minor changes.

Several engines are available for the GS. The GS 200t has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 241 horsepower, while the GS 350 has a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 311 horsepower. The GS 450h combines a 3.5-liter V6 with an electric motor for a total of 338 system horsepower. The GS 200t is rear-wheel drive, while the GS 350 is rear-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive vehicles use an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the AWD GS 350 has a six-speed automatic. The GS 450h is rear-wheel drive and has a continuously-variable automatic transmission.

The GS F has a 5.0-liter V8 that makes 467 horsepower. It's rear-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

EPA-estimated fuel-economy ranges from 16 mpg city/24 mpg highway on the GS F to 29/34 for the GS 450h. The GS 200t is rated at 22/33 (20/30 with F Sport package), while the GS 350 is rated at 20/29 (19/28 with F Sport, 19/26 with AWD).

Available features include moonroof, leather trim, Bluetooth, infotainment system with apps, navigation, USB, premium audio, power rear sunshade, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, remote control of select vehicle functions via app, limited rear slip differential (GS 350 F Sport), and rear climate controls.

Available safety features include stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, rear-view camera, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, dynamic radar cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and dual-front, front-side, rear-side, driver- and passenger-knee and front and rear side-curtain airbags.

The 2017 Lexus GS has a base price of $46,310, excluding all dealer and destination fees.
