2017 HYUNDAI ELANTRA: Hyundai Motor America proudly displays the all-new 2017 Elantra compact sedan at the 108th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 13-21, 2016. This is the sixth-generation for Elantra, and it celebrates with all-new powertrains. The standard engine available on the base SE and Limited trim is a 2.0-liter Nu MPI Atkinson four-cylinder engine producing a peak 147-horsepower. An all-new 1.4-liter Kappa turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine comes equipped on the Elantra Eco trim. This engine produces 128-hp and is mated to an EcoShift seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Elantra features a sleek body design that is wider by 1.0-in. with a more athletic stance, which accentuates a sweeping side window silhouette. Available premium features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, all-new LED door handle approach lights, side mirror LED turn signal indicators and LED taillights with high tech graphics add a level of sophistication and detail to this class-above compact sedan. The 2017 Elantra is offered in eight exterior colors, five of which are new to the model. On the inside, the Elantra's improved cabin is roomier with high-quality, soft-touch materials and premium technology features. For the first time, Elantra offers an eight-speaker Infinity premium audio system, including a center speaker and subwoofer. The seating layouts can comfortably accommodate four or five passengers, plus long items like golf clubs or snowboards. Fold down two seats, to seat three people and hold larger packages or fold all of the back seats to get 14.4 cu. ft. cargo space. Elantra's hands-free smart trunk allows drivers to conveniently open the trunk if their hands are full by simply approaching the rear of the vehicle with the key fob in a purse or pocket.
