2017 Honda Civic: The 2017 Honda Civic is a five-seat compact car that is available in sedan, coupe and hatchback forms. It competes with vehicles such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and Toyota Corolla. For 2017, the Civic adds the hatchback bodystyle, new trim levels and more manual-transmission options.

There are two engine choices: A 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The former makes 158 horsepower and the latter makes 174 horsepower or 180 horsepower, depending on trim. The Civic is front-wheel drive. Both engines are available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously-variable automatic transmission, depending on trim. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 28 mpg city to 40 mpg highway, depending on trim, bodystyle, engine and transmission.

Trim levels include LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L and Touring for the coupe; LX, LX-P, EX-T, EX-L and Touring for the sedan and LX, Sport, EX, EX-L Navi and Sport Touring for the hatchback. Available features include adaptive cruise control, fog lamps, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, leather seats, Bluetooth, USB, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Pandora, satellite radio, and navigation system.

Available safety features include dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags; traction control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, forward-collision warning, rearview camera, Honda LaneWatch, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, collision-mitigation braking and road-departure mitigation system.

The base price for the 2017 Honda Civic is $18,740, excluding delivery and destination fees.
