Lego® Batmobile from Chevrolet: Cue the bat signal. Chevrolet’s life-size Lego® Batmobile is just that – a life-size version of the Lego® Batmobile. And it will be on display at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, allowing show-goers to see the crime-stopping concept that’s constructed from more than 350,000 Lego bricks.
This 17-foot long Lego® Batmobile is inspired by the Speedwagon that will be featured in the upcoming Warner Bros. for “The LEGO® Batman Movie”, which will open in American movie theaters on February 10. The movie will feature Lego® Batman working with others to save Gotham City from The Joker
The Lego® Batmobile is 17 feet long, almost seven feet high and a little over nine feet wide. It weighs 1,695.5 pounds with each tire weighing just over 100 pounds. A total of 344,187 Lego® bricks were used to build it, and 17 different Lego® colors were used overall. It even features stud shooters.
The interior frame, which weighs over 282 pounds, is made of more than 86 square feet of square-tube aluminum.
It took 222 hours to design the Lego® Batmobile from Chevrolet and 1,833 hours to build it. Lego® Master Builders put together the life-size Lego® version of the Dark Knight’s on-screen ride at the Lego® Model Shop in Enfield, Connecticut.
