2016 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN: For 2016, the Volkswagen Tiguan has a new starting price that's cut nearly $1,400, yet, at the same time introduces new standard features. The urban compact sport utility model lineup includes the S, R-Line, SE and top-tier SEL. A 200-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI is standard in every Tiguan, with the choice of six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic, front-wheel drive or 4Motion all-wheel drive. The entry-level S is equipped with MIB II infotainment systems, five-inch touchscreen, USB, keyless access with push-button start, V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces, heated front seats, heated washer nozzles and automatic headlights with rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming mirror. Consumers who order the R-Line add to the above a 6.3-in. touchscreen. A panoramic sunroof is now standard on the SE, along with 18-inch New York aluminum-alloy wheels; Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and the adaptive front-lighting system; foglights with cornering function; full power driver's seat; power passenger seat recline; and chrome interior switches, exterior door trim, window surround, and roof rails. When selecting the SEL, buyers receive 19-inch Savannah aluminum-alloy wheels, sport suspension, leather seating surfaces, automatic headlights with rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming mirror. The available towing hitch accepts an attachment to to pull 2200 pounds of jet skis, dirt bikes or ATVs. Ready for an active lifestyle, the Tiguan is designed to seat five-adults in comfort, or be a carry-all for 56.1 cu. ft. of fun gear.
