2016 Volkswagen Jetta

2016 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA: As Volkswagen's best-selling car, the Jetta has been further refined from the updates that arrived with last year's model. For 2016, the Jetta is available in nine models that include the 1.8T, S, SE, SEL, TDI S, TDI SE, TDI SEL, eGolf and R. The front-wheel-drive Jetta continues to offer a selection of power plants: an 115-horsepower 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, 170-hp 1.8L turbocharged/intercooler, 150-hp 2.0L turbocharged TDI clean diesel engine, and 1.4L turbocharged hybrid unit that generates 27-hp from the electric motor and 150- horses from the gasoline engine. Depending on engine selection, the Jetta is offered with a five-speed manual, six-speed automatic transmission or Volkswagen's seven-speed, fast-shifting dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The '16 Jetta wear a crisp look for improved aerodynamics, along with several mechanical improvements. A key benefit of the Jetta's extended 104.4-inch wheelbase is a spacious five-passenger interior, with impressive rear-seat legroom and headroom. All Jettas come with standard air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, one-touch auto up/down power windows, power locks with keyless entry, aux-in for the radio/CD player, and power heated exterior mirrors. The Jetta offers an abundant 15.5 cubic feet of usable trunk space, which can be increased by folding forward the 60/40-split rear seatback. And to help accommodate longer items, like skis, the rear seatback provides a pass-through door into the trunk. A new lighting package includes interior ambient lighting, the Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering and LED daytime running lights, and an upgraded display in the instrument cluster. Note the special features on the Jetta Hybrid, including the blue-highlighted Volkswagen logo and badging, a unique air intake, air dam, side skirts, underbody, and diffuser.
