2016 Toyota Tundra

360-Spin-Text

2016 TOYOTA TUNDRA: Designed, engineered and built in the U.S.A, the big, brawny and brainy 2016 Toyota Tundra is offered in distinct grades each with a "unique flavor" in the half-ton pickup market. The SR grade is the entry-level Tundra while the SR5 continues to be Tundra's volume model. Moving up, the Limited offers more premium features, followed by the Platinum grade that has a more urban contemporary edge. The newest member is the Tundra 1794 Edition with its heritage inspired by the ranch founded in 1794 where the Tundra plant is now located in San Antonio  The Tundra TRD off-road package is available on SR5, Limited, and the 1794 Edition. A pair of powerplants is offered, including the 310-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8 and the mighty 5.7L V-8 that produces 381-hp. Both V-8s come mated to six-speed automatics. With the 5.7L, Tundra carries more than 2,000 pounds and tows over 10,000 pounds. Tundra also features blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert on premium models. It continues to have the largest front brakes in the class and the segment's only standard knee airbags. For 2016, there are three cab styles: two-door Regular Cab, four-door Double Cab, and the super-sized four-door CrewMax. Tundra Regular Cab models come exclusively with a long bed (8.1-foot); Double Cab models are offered in the 6.5-ft standard-bed or 8.1-ft long-bed configurations. The CrewMax comes with a 5.5-ft bed, and all Tundra beds are 22.2-in. deep. Toyota upgraded the Entune Multimedia units to 2.5 version status in all Tundra models for 2016. The premium multimedia units offer 85 percent faster functionality thanks to new dual-core processors, and iPhone users can now charge their phone using the USB port while using the Entune App Suite at the same time. The App Suite adds Slacker Radio and replaces Bing with Destination Search. Chicago Auto Show Fact: In 2013, Bill Fay, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager, introduced the redesigned 2014 Tundra full-size pickup at the 105th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 2013.
