2015 TOYOTA RAV4: Sales of compact crossovers are on the rise, and consumers can check out Toyota's entry, the 2015 RAV4, at the 107th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 14-22, 2015. This fiesty five-passenger crossover offers front- or all-wheel drive, four-cylinder power, and comfortable seating for five. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 176 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque, is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota calls its available all-wheel-drive system Dynamic Torque Control, and it can send up to 50 percent of the power to the rear wheels during aggressive cornering to help rotate the RAV4 through turns. The RAV4 is offered in LE, XLE, and Limited models. The LE comes with such unexpected features as a rearview camera, USB and auxiliary ports, Bluetooth Connectivity, and Toyota's Entune audio system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen. It also gets cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, eight standard airbags (including a driver's knee bag and a front passenger seat bag also for knee protection), active front headrests to protect against whiplash, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, remote keyless entry, tilt/telescoping steering column, and 17-inch steel wheels with wheel covers. The XLE adds upgraded cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, sport seats, sunroof, and alloy wheels. The Limited comes with Softex faux leather upholstery, eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with memory, heated front seats, keyless access and starting, adjustable power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Notable options include satellite radio with HD radio, Toyota's Entune Premium Audio with App Suite, 11-speaker JBL GreenEdge audio system, and a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. New for 2015 is the Blizzard Pearl Premium Package, which features Blizzard Pearl paint and special 18-inch machined finish alloy wheels.
