2016 PORSCHE BOXSTER: Porsche will be displaying the 2016 Boxster Spyder at its exhibit during the 108th annual Chicago Auto Show; Feb. 13-21, 2016. The mid-engine sports car comes standard with a 265-horsepower 2.7-litre displacement. A pair of optional flat-six cylinder engines is offered: 3.4L with 330-hp and the 375-hp version of Porsche's 3.8L. The rear-wheel drive Boxster models include a six-speed manual gearbox with dual mass flywheel, standstill management with HOLD function, and auto Start-Stop function. Along with performance, the open-top two-seater has a completely new lightweight design body and a completely revamped chassis. The front fascia includes integrated air intakes and outer intake slats in black while the rear includes an automatically extending rear spoiler, chrome-colored logotype, and central twin-tube tailpipes in brushed stainless steel. The roadster top has fully electric operation, wind deflector, and heatable rear glass window. Though not recommend, the opening and closing are possible up to vehicle speed of 31 mph. With considerably lower weight, a longer wheelbase, a wider track, and larger wheels, significantly enhance the mid-engine sports car's driving dynamics, supported by the new electro-mechanical power steering. Both Boxer and Boxer S are powered by flat-six engines with direct gas injection, the efficiency of which is further enhanced by electrical system recuperation, thermal management and auto start/stop function. While not purchased for its trunk space, the '16 Boxster does provide up to 5.3-cu. ft. front and 4.6 -cu. ft. of rear luggage room.
