2016 PORSCHE 911: Porsche's 911 sports car is now in its seventh-generation and offered in two-plus-two coupe and cabriolet configurations, with nearly 90 percent of the components new or significantly redesigned. Available as Porsche 911 Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, and Carrera 4 GTS, each longer, lower and with a wider front track than previous editions. A 350-horsepower 3.4-liter boxer engine propels the Carrera 4 while the 4S packages contain a 3.8L boxer engine that produces 430-hp. Ultimate performance is packed into the GTS with its rear-mounted Boxer six-cylinder that pumps out 500-hp. Depending on the model, the buyer has a choice of a seven-speed manual gearbox, or the optional seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) featuring both manual and automatic modes. Despite increased power and torque across the range, all models consume significantly less fuel than their respective predecessors. Depending on the set-up, the 911 Carrera 4 and 4S can streak to 0-60 miles per hour in 3.9-seconds and reach a maximum top speed of 184-mph. Drawing attention to the aggressively styled rear is the panel directly below the spoiler's edge that connects the left and right taillights for a distinct nighttime presence. Additional styling cues are black recessed sill panels inside view and a modified nose with unique front air inlets. As avid drivers know, the Porsche 911 can be a daily driver as well as a competitive racecar at track events.
