2016 NISSAN MAXIMA: For the first time showing in Chicago, the 2016 Nissan Maxima sets a new standard for style, performance, and technology in the large four-door sedan segment. The Maxima is offered in Maxima S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum trim levels. Now in its eighth generation, the 2016 Maxima are powered by a new 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V-6 that is rated at 300 horsepower. Mated with the engine is a new performance-oriented Xtronic automatic transmission with wider ratio range, adaptive shift control, and Sport mode. Nissan touts that the Maxima wears authentic sports car cues through low and wide proportions, powerful body sculpting, flared fenders and available machine-finished 19-inch wheels. The five-passenger cabin is available with Ascot leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted inserts, and an active sound enhancement Bose premium audio system with 11 speakers and active noise cancelation. Safety features include predictive forward collision warning, driver attention alert system, forward emergency braking, blind sport warning and rear cross traffic alert. Maxima's next-generation technology features include standard navigation, featuring an 8.0-inch touch-screen display, along with SiriusXM satellite radio and Travel Link applications, online search with Google and other connectivity features. The new Maxima SR grade adds unique suspension damper tuning, a performance chassis damper, a larger front stabilizer bar and 19-inch wheels and tires to add even more performance. Maxima's trunk can carry up to 14.3-cu. ft. of luggage. The '16 Maxima is assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee, with engines assembled in Decherd, Tennessee.
