2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS: The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the top-selling model series from the German auto manufacturer. There are two C-Class models offered: C300 4Matic sedan with a 241-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged direct injection four-cylinder engine and a C400 4Matic with a 3.0L turbocharged direct-injection V-6 at 329-hp. Smooth automatic gear shifting is provided by the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, and the 4Matic permanent all-wheel-drive system serves to improve traction and driving stability in the C-Class. While at the show and in the Mercedes-Benz exhibit, ask about the autonomous braking and semi-autonomous highway steering available for 2016. With its redesigned exterior, the C-Class is larger outside with striking clean and sensuous line; a long hood, short overhangs; set-back passenger compartment and large wheels. With a three inch increase in the wheelbase (112 inches) compared with the previous model, the vehicle is 3.7 inches longer (184 inches) and 1.6 inches wider (71 inches). The resultant additional space benefits the five-passenger cabin, especially the rear passengers, who now travel in even greater comfort. The new C-Class also increases its trunk capacity to 17 cubic feet. For high-performance fans, Mercedes-Benz offers the C62 AMG package that pumps out 456-to-503-horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 4.0L V-8. The C-Class premium midsized sedan is assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the USA and Canadian markets.
