McLaren 570S

2016 McLAREN 570S: Bound to generate a lot of buzz during the 2016 Chicago Auto Show is the stunning McLaren 570S sports car. It is the first offering from McLaren that brings its race-derived technologies into the sports car segment. For model year 2016, the 570S combines a mid-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive with a carbon fiber chassis. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine creates 562-horsepower and 442-lb.ft. of torque delivered to the road through a seven-speed SSG transmission. It takes the McLaren 570S a mere 3.1-seconds to dash from 0-to-60mph, and tops off at a goverened 204-mph. The 570S rides on Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires and boasts carbon ceramic brakes. The unique MonoCell II chassis is a lightweight structure, and the use of aluminum body panels, contributes to a dry weight as low as 2,895-lbs. McLaren's "shrinkwrapped," form has been sculpted by the air, with a tailored aerodynamic package that possess a three-dimensional appearance including a 'floating' door tendon that divides the airflow, channeling additional air to cool the mid-mounted V-8 engine, as well as underneath the flying buttresses to increase downforce. McLaren's tradition of designing the cockpit around the driver lives on in the 570S Coupe with its ergonomic blueprinted, full infotainment system, TFT digital instrument cluster, seven-inch IRIS touchscreen, and a choice of Alcantara, Nappa leather and carbon fiber options. Base MSRP of the model on display at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show (Feb. 13-21) is $184,900.
