2016 Maserati GranTurismo

2016 MASERATI GRANTURISMO: On review at the Chicago Auto Show is the 2016 Maserati GranTurismo, the brand’s expression of the ultimate GT. Under the carbon fiber hood is a powerful Maserati 4.7-liter V-8 engine that produces 454-horsepower and comes linked with the fastest-shifting six-speed automatic gearbox. Most of the 384 lb-ft of torque is available over a wide range of engine speeds, with beautiful tones coming from the center-mounted sport exhaust. The GranTurismo can dash from 0-to-60 mph in 4.7 seconds on the way to a governed top speed of 185 mph. Maserati applied aerodynamics derived from the competition GranTurismo race cars to the street version, along with near-perfect weight balance and precise handling to deliver an awe-inspiring driving experience. Available in coupe and convertible body designs, the GranTurismo Sport wears the distinctive Maserati radiator grille with a large trident logo and an aerodynamic splitter in the center; and pronounced sideskirts in body color or black on request. At the rear, the taillights have a special burnished finish that accentuates the effect of the 96 LEDs that provide illumination. Filling the wheel wells are large, 20-inch Astro Design rims, and large Brembo brake calipers. Designed as a 2+2, the interior seating for four includes perfectly contoured sport seats upholstered in fine Italian premium leather, surrounded by a competition-inspired accessories and components. Another important feature for sport-oriented drivers is the lightweight pedal board in perforated aluminum.
