2016 Lexus GS

2016 LEXUS GS: Lexus brings the restyled 2016 Lexus GS mid-size luxury sedan to the 108th annual Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 13-21, 2016. The '16 GS is offered in new GS 200t rear-wheel drive model, the GS 350 and top tier GS 450h. New power and efficiency demonstrated in the choice of engines, starting with the 241-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The more muscular 3.5L V-6 creates 311-hp. Both the four and six-cylinder engines come mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission delivers. Lexus offers a luxury, high-performing  hybrid GS 450h that combines hybrid drive output from an Atkinson cycle 3.5L V-6 engine and a water-cooled permanent-magnet electric motor for 338 total system horsepower. The power is channeled through a planetary-type continuously variable transmission. Available GS F Sport (an entirely new animal to the Lexus lineup) is packed with the naturally-aspirated 5.0L V-8 that pumps a sonorous 467-hp and emits a throaty rumble. The GS F Sport engine is teamed with a quick-acting eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. All in the '16 Lexus GS family wear new front bumper and rocker panel design, revised taillights, revised rear trim and new 18- and 19-inch machine-finish wheels. Fresh, bold colors for the 2016 GS are Matador Red Mica, Nightfall Mica and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0. New multimedia includes the available 12.3-inch screen for full-screen map capability when equipped with navigation. Other multimedia changes include enhanced voice recognition and graphics. The screen can split into two sections to show different functions, such as navigation, audio and climate control information. For GS 350 and GS 450h models, navigation is now standard. Available safety system combines the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, and all-speed dynamic radar cruise control.
